JANE WALDON McDERMOTT Passed away peacefully in her sleep at the age of 75 on the evening of March 15, 2015 at home in Niagara Falls, ON with Derek and Christopher by her side. Daughter of the late Eugene Menzie and Lillian McMurray, sister of the late Mary Louise (Molly) Tait, she leaves behind her beloved husband Derek McDermott and her devoted sons Christopher and Julian. Her extended family and friends whose lives were graced by her beautiful smile, warm eyes and generous heart will miss Jane. A true daughter of Niagara Falls, Jane gave much of herself to the service of others as a wife, mother, friend, teacher and Autism advocate. Although Alzheimer's and cancer took her life, her memory and spirit will be cherished forever. Jane was the living embodiment of patience being the companion of wisdom. The family would like to say thank you to her doctors Dr. Mohamed Abu Shahma, Dr. Hallock and Dr. Wasserman; her nurse Laura Pope-Goulet and the entire oncology staff, and her gracious PSWs Fabienne Mathieu, Rose Damico, Julie Winger and everyone else at Care Partners. The compassion and kindness of these individuals alleviated much of Jane's suffering and comforted the family greatly. Thank you as well to Minister Wally Hong, Jean Pizzolato and the entire congregation at Drummond Hill Church for their ongoing spiritual guidance and prayers. A service will be held at Drummond Hill Church in Niagara Falls, ON at 11 a.m Tuesday, March 31, 2015. Visitation from 10 a.m. at the church. In lieu of flowers, donations in Jane's memory can be made to
