Donna & I cannot tell how sorrowful we feel at the passing of our 40 year doctor but more importantly, our dear friend. I actually looked forward to my visits with Jerry, waiting for him to give me heck for one thing or another as he cared so much about my/our health. After my check ups, we would go back into his office and talk sports and food etc. We will truly miss you Jerry but thank you for such great memories.

Dr.Shklar was my physician since I first arrived in Toronto 40 years ago and he saw me through all the possible medical issues one usually experiences in that time span. Through it all he was kind, compassionate and wise. He was more than simply my doctor - he was like an extended member of my family. I was miss him very much. My deepest condolences.

Dearest Alla and the Shklar family, I was just informed of the Drs' passing and finding myself without words to say. What an amazing man he was. My late father thought of him as a God for all he did for him. I on the other hand never felt alone because he was always so informed and followed everything. My deepest condolences for your loss. I just found out today of the devastating news. Dr. Shklar was not only our family physician, but also considered a part of our family. My late father, Steve, considered him a very good friend. Dr. Shklar was a pillar of strength during many moments of my family's life. Dr. Shklar was always a source of comfort, knowledge and support to all of us. He was there for many of my family's good times and bad. May you find comfort and peace with the memories you have of him. May his memory be eternal. God rest his soul.

I just heard about Dr Shklar's passing and was deeply saddened. I was a patient of his father and then his when he finished medical school. A sweet man - patient, gentle, kind and FUNNY. Brave too: he had his issues and had empathy for those traveling a tough path.We shall miss him desperately after 38 years of care and guidance. I am am in shock. Having known him for more than half of my life. I will miss him greatly. He was a wonderful caring Dr and a person of great compassion. He was far more than a Dr, he was a dear friend. I am so sorry for his wonderful wife and family. He is gone but he will never be forgotten.
