Jean GEORGE Obituary

GEORGE, Jean (nee STAVROFF) Jean died peacefully, with family by her side, at The Millwood Retirement Home, on September 29, 2022. Predeceased by her husband, Stan; and parents, Loza and Blazo Stavroff. Much loved mother to William (Susan), Tom (Sophie), Elaine (Patrick) Rocca and Philip (Kendra). Cherished Baba to Krista, Stephanie, Jonathan, Simeon (Brie), Christian, Alexa, Matthew, Lily, Kaloyan. Dear sister to Mary (Andy) Rorris. She genuinely loved people and was often chatting on the telephone with her friends and family. She was a true connector. A first generation Canadian, a big part of her life was volunteering at St. George's Macedono-Bulgarian Eastern Orthodox Church. She could be found singing in the choir every Sunday, knitting and baking for the annual bazaar, and helping out wherever was needed. Jean was a warm, welcoming, caring person who loved her family and friends with all her heart and soul. With her wonderful sense of humour, quick wit, sense of fun, easy laugh and beautiful smile, she lit up any room she was in. Many thanks to all the Millwood staff for their truly wonderful care over the past year and a half. Whenever anyone asked her how she liked living there, Jean's response was ALWAYS "I just LOVE it here!". If desired, in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. George's Macedono-Bulgarian Church, The Heart & Stroke Foundation or The Alzheimer Society. A visitation will be held at Heritage Funeral Centre, 50 Overlea Blvd., Toronto, ON M4H 1B6. on Sunday, October 2, 2022, 3:00 - 8:00 p.m. The funeral service will be held at to St. George's Macedono-Bulgarian Church, 17 Regent St, Toronto, ON M5A 3N4 on Monday, October 3, 2022, 11:00 a.m.
