PENNER, Jean Shirley (nee MCMillan) - Of Margaret, Manitoba and Guildwood Village, Scarborough Peacefully at Rouge Valley Centenary Hospital on Monday, December 17, 2012. Beloved wife of John. Loving mother of John, James, Elizabeth and Timothy. Proud grandmother of Mae, Cameron, Georgiana, Neill, Reuel, Andrew and Jael. Survived by her dear sister Ethel and dear brother Ross. Family and friends will be received on Friday, December 21, 2012 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at MCDougall and Brown Funeral Home, 2900 Kingston Road, 416-267-4656. Funeral service to be held on Saturday, December 22nd at 12:00 p.m. at Guildwood Community Presbyterian Church, 140 Guildwood Parkway, Scarborough, followed by interment at Resthaven Memorial Gardens. Nothing can be more precious than the thoughts I have of Jean, to me she was very special, God must have thought so too. Time rolls on, memories stay, near and dear as yesterday. There will always be a heartache and often silent tears, but always precious memories of the days when she was here. I will always remember Jean as so very sweet, welcoming and loving, a thoroughly good and genuine person which shone through even to those of us who didn't see her often but felt it was such a pleasure having met her to know there are such good people in this world as Jean and her husband John. I met Jean through the ecumenical Bible study at the Presbyterian Church in Guildwood several years ago. Jean had the gift of making one feel like a good friend right from the first meeting. I will always remember her fondly. I delighted in sharing with Jean and her husband John an interest in the ministry of Charles Price TV Evangelist. Jean, no doubt is continuing to watch over her loving husband and family from the House of the Lord. Eternal rest Grant unto her O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon her. May she rest in peace. Anen. Now that she is set free from this mortal flesh, restore her to her heritage of everlasting salvation through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
