Joan McDERMOTT Obituary

McDERMOTT, Joan Marie - 1936 - 2014 Passed away peacefully in the early hours of August 7, 2014 at Toronto East General Hospital. Predeceased by mother Theresa (nee Houston) and father Thomas McDermott. Loving and loved birth mother of Marilyn (Allan). Grandmother of Mike (Brooke) and Laura. Sister to nine siblings. "Aunty Mame" to many nieces and nephews. In accordance with Joan's wishes, cremation has occurred. A Celebration of Life will be held at Pine Hills Cemetery and Visitation Centre, 625 Birchmount Road, Scarborough (north of St. Clair Ave. E., 416-267-8229), Wednesday, August 13th from 10 a.m. to noon followed by interment. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Canadian Cancer Society, Ontario Division, "Wheels of Hope" patient transportation program could be made. www.etouch.ca
