Louise - my thoughts have been with you since I got the sad new about Joan. You shared so many wonderful memories together and together you visited such wonderful places. She will be in our hearts for years to come.

Dear Anne, Marty and Slamen Family,
We are sorry to hear that your beloved mother has passed away. We hope she had a peaceful end to her life. From her obituary, it is clear that she lived a full and happy life pursuing her passions and that she shared loving relationships with her family and friends. Hers was a life well spent. Our sincerest condolences.

To Louise and all of the other members of Joan's family,
My heartfelt condolences to all of you. I was one of the lucky artists at the DBWA where Joan was a 'day one' member. Joan inspired all of us. It was clear she was a titan of a person, with an extraordinary depth and breadth of intelligence, great wit, huge resilience and inner strength. She was a great leader in our community, role modelling strength, vulnerability, creativity, soul. She made all of us want to be our best selves. Orchids, Brandy Alexanders, gorgeously decorated cakes, stories of loss and resilience, the first flowers coming up through the snow ..all of these will, for me, be forever coloured by Joan. xox Robin
