JOE YONEMITSU Obituary

YONEMITSU, JOE Passed away on December 21, 2021, at Grand River, at the age of 84. Beloved husband of Mary Ann. Loving father of Jennifer, Steven and Nori. Cherished grandfather of Carly, Tai, Jordyn, JoJo, Eric, Akimi and Natalie. Dear brother of George and Jim. Predeceased by his siblings Isoko, Toky, Mitsy, Mitsugi, Satoshi, Fuyoko and Isao. Joe was born in British Columbia to parents, Isuke and Fume Yonemitsu. He moved to Toronto, Ontario, where he graduated from the University of Toronto, School of Engineering. Shortly after his marriage to Mary Ann, he moved to Kitchener/Waterloo where he raised his family of 3 children. He was a successful entrepreneur and later worked as a secondary school teacher with the North York Board of Education. He retired in the year 2000 and enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. Joe's family will receive relatives and friends on Thursday, December 30, 2021, from 3:00-4:00 p.m. at the Henry Walser Funeral Home, 507 Frederick Street, Kitchener, 519-749-8467. A memorial will be held in the funeral home chapel, following the visitation. All guests must be double vaccinated to attend Joe's visitation and service. Please RSVP to attend Joe's visitation and service through the funeral home's website or by calling the funeral home directly.
