John (Jack) Allan BOX
Peacefully and surrounded by his family, Jack, in his 94th year, passed away February 23, 2016 at his home in the Sunnybrook Veterans Hospital. A special thank you to the wonderful nurses who treated Dad with such dignity and grace.
Jack was predeceased by the love of his life Ruth, was a loving father to Janet and Glen, a caring father-in-law to Raymond and Susan and an adoring Papa to Tessa, the light of his life. He served as a navigator in the Royal Canadian Air Force, Squadron 489 during World War II. He was a proud Canadian that served his country with honour and distinction. He was also a member of two Masonic lodges (Corinthian 481 and Harcourt 581) and was privileged to serve as a leader and mentor through his years of membership. Friends may call at the Turner and Porter Yorke Chapel, 2357 Bloor Street W., at Windermere, east of the Jane Subway on Thursday from 2 – 4 and 7 – 9 p.m. The Service will be held in the Chapel on Friday, February 26th, at 11 a.m. At the family's request, donations in Jack's memory may be made to the Alzheimer Society.
