JOHN BRYANT Obituary

BRYANT, O.N., JOHN DOUGLAS Order of Niagara Born in London, Ontario on April 23, 1930. "Doug" passed peacefully away, surrounded by his loved ones, on Sunday, February 10, 2019 at the Georgetown Hospital. Doug had a big spirit and touched the hearts of many. His time at Empire Brass Manufacturing Company (EMCO) in London and then EMCO Plastics in Brampton for 44 years, started the foundation for his family. Here he enjoyed the company of many friends as well as his work. As fate would have it, the opportunity to move presented itself and as apprehensive as the family was, they settled in Glen Williams in 1970. He loved everything about the "Glen"; his new home, his longtime connection to the Church, his friends, the volunteer work and most of all his family as it grew. Although he never considered himself a traveller Barb lovingly persuaded him to go to Britain and he loved it. Doug cherished his wife Barbara "Barb" of 67 years and admired his two sons Robert "Bob" (Jo-Anne) and Richard "Dick" (Christine). His grandchildren Jocelyn (Mark), Caitlin and Trevor (Megan) were the apples of his eye and he adored his great-grandchildren Grayson and Adelyn. He leaves behind a loving family who will forever miss his presence. The family would also like to give a special thanks to Jan LaFlamme and the ladies of the Georgetown Hospital Pharmacy for your help and support during Doug's illness and hospital stay. Friends will be received at the Jones Funeral Home, 11582 Trafalgar Road, Georgetown, 905-877-3631, on Friday, February 15, 2019 from 7:00-9:00 p.m. A time of gathering will be held at St. Alban the Martyr Anglican Church, 537 Main Street, Glen Williams, on Saturday, February 16, 2019 at 11:00 o'clock. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to St. Alban's, Glen Williams or the Lions Foundation of Canada Dog Guides (Oakville, ON).
