I worked with John on the Metropolitan Toronto Police Force which eventually was renamed to the more 'politically correct' Toronto Police Service. John was a great, fair and understanding boss who was both liked and respected by those who worked for him. He was unafraid to 'go against the grain'. Too bad there weren't more like him!! I also remember his great, wry sense of humour and was saddened to hear of his passing.
