John Gadsby Obituary

JOHN HAMILTON GADSBY John died peacefully, in his 84th year, surrounded by his family on September 13, 2011 at the Houses of Providence Long Term Facility. Faithful husband of Reverend Dr. Myrna Gadsby, and brother-in-law of Dr. Norma Fuller and her husband Rev. Dr. Gerald Fuller of Ottawa, John Cook and his wife Shirley of Brampton, and Dr. David Cook of Erin. Uncle to Aaron, Nathan, Dawn, Terry, Arthur, Charles and James. Predeceased by adopted mother Ms Annie Plumb. John was a kind, good-hearted friend to many. He had a passion for the outdoors, especially canoeing, and loved his garden and trees. John was a retired archivist of the Newspaper Collection with the Ontario Archives. We will miss his enthusiasm and passion for life. The family will receive friends at the HUMPHREY FUNERAL HOME - A.W. MILES CHAPEL, 1403 Bayview Avenue (south of Davisville Avenue) from 2:00-4:00 and 7:00-9:00 p.m. Friday, September 16. Service in LITTLE TRINITY ANGLICAN CHURCH, 407 King Street East, on Saturday, September 17, 2011 at 1:00 p.m. Interment Mount Pleasant Cemetery. If desired, donations may be made to the Mission to Seafarers, Ontario Pioneer Camp, or the Anglican Church of the Resurrection.
