It is with deep sadness that the family of John Galus announces his sudden passing on May 27, 2021, at his home in Toronto, Ontario. Beloved husband of the late Helen (nee Baran) for 54 years. Loving father of Anna (Tony Ciciretto), Barbara (Peter Glowacki) and Dianne (Malcolm Saravanamuttoo). Proud and much loved Dziadzio of Nicole, Victoria, Mathew (Kelsie Edwards), Stefanie (Michal Ulman), Lucas (Celine Augustyn), Kendall and Callum. Great-grandfather of Nicholas and many grand-dogs! John lived life to the fullest and will be greatly missed by all his extended family and friends. John is an excellent example of an immigrant who came to Canada in 1958 with little but hope, a strong work ethic and determination to provide a better future for his family. John had a successful career with the Toronto Transit Commission for 35 years, ran his own business – JR Renovations, and built his own (and many friends) cottages in Barry's Bay, where he enjoyed spending time. Due to COVID-19 restrictions, a private Funeral Mass will be held. For those who wish, a donation in John's memory may be made to the Heart & Stroke Foundation of Canada. Funeral Mass livestream link and online condolences may be found through www.turnerporter.ca

Dear Anna, Barbara and Dianne and family. Andrea and I were just informed of your father's death this evening from my mother. We are truly saddened by your loss. When the events leading up to your father's death were recounted to me, I thought about what a lovely way God chose to bring your father out of this earthly earthly existence in order to go to meet our Lord in Heaven. Gardening and helping his neighbours is in keeping with the generous spirit he most undoubtedly shared with those all around him. Andrea, our family and I will offer prayers for the repose of his soul.
I hope your are well Anna as we haven't seen each other since our days in high school. I will pray for your sisters and you to weather this loss and we most sincerely wish all of your children and families all of God's blessings, health and happiness.
Andrew, Andrea, Matthew, Alexandra, Olivia and Stephanie Ezman. May eternal light shine upon him and may his soul rest in peace.

Very kind man. Grew up a couple houses down on Galley ave. Always had a smile on his face and a kind word. Spoke with him often online and was always interested in my life and had a very positive attitude towards life. Condolences to Anna Barb and Dianne and their families. I’m sure he will be very missed.
