GRIER, John - John Ferguson Scott Grier passed away surrounded by family on June 3, 2015 at Simcoe Manor in Beeton, Ontario, at the age of 90. John is survived by his sons John (Barbara), Michael (Jo-anne) and Jamie (Wendy) and his daughter Mary. His grandchildren Bryan, Lisa, Caitlyn and Rachel, Rebecca, Jessica and Leeanna and Sydney and Wesley. His great-grandson Owen. John was born on March 10, 1925 in Glasgow, Scotland. John served in WWII, where he was wounded in action. After spending two years in Australia he immigrated to Canada to Thornhill, Ontario, where he joined the TTC for 32 years of service. Family, friends and church were very important to John Sr. Upon moving to Lisle, Ontario, he joined St. Paul the Apostle Church and was involved with the choir and many other activities. His wonderful sense of humour and wit will be fondly remembered. The visitation will take place on Sunday, June 7th from 2 - 4 and 6 - 8 p.m. at W. Reception to follow at W. John Thomas Funeral Home. All are welcome to attend and celebrate John's life. Donations can be made in John's honor to ShareLife or the Alzheimer Society of Canada.
