My deepest sympathy to Julia and family.
John was truly unique and a wonderful mentor and friend over his many years with or pipe band. John always had that special perspective that made him a source of inspiration for many of us. He will be missed but his contribution everlasting. Our thoughts and prayers will be with you and your family.

My deepest sympathy to Julia and family.
I first had the pleasure of meeting John at Agincourt Collegiate in 1980.
I came to know John as one of those who was a natural born leader, a role he took with great pride and passion. No doubt in his wonderful long life with his ability to connect with people he served as an inspiration to many.
Not only was John a dear friend but also an inspiration to me.
He will be sorely missed.
