JOHN NORTH Obituary

JOHN MARCUS NORTH 1947 - 2017 The energizer bunny is finally at rest. After a valiant struggle, John passed away peacefully shortly after his 70th birthday. He was the loving and loved husband of Maureen (nee Bennett) for 45 years. He leaves behind his sister Mary Burnham (Randy Pond), his sister-in-law Carolynne Palmer (Nick) and his brother-in-law Stephen Bennett (late Kathy). John loved having 8 nephews and one special niece; 4 great-nephews and one great-niece as well as many wonderful cousins and friends. John truly enjoyed working with stamps and coins, playing bridge and travelling. He and Maureen were so privileged to have been on a four month trip around the world just last year. Maureen would like to thank all the family, clergy, friends and North York General Hospital staff who were so kind to her and John. Special thanks must go to the family; John and Judy Mardon who were there with John as he left on his next trip. John has been cremated and there will be no formal funeral but a private service in the Beachburg Cemetery at a future date. John asked that any donations be given to The Church of the Incarnation (15 Clairtrell Rd., North York, ON M2H 5J7) or the North York General Hospital Foundation (4001 Leslie St., North York, ON M2K 1E1). Condolences www.rskane.ca May God give him the peace he deserves. Because I could not stop for Death He kindly stopped for me The carriage had but just ourselves And immortality. - Emily Dickinson
