SIMPSON, John M. - My loving father passed away peacefully in the wee morning hours of Saturday, April 6, 2013, at Sunnybrook Hospital at the age of 89 years. Predeceased by his loving wife Margaret and survived by his daughter, Carol. Forever a gentleman, he was a combination of kindness and strength sprinkled always with a ray of positive sunshine. A memorial service will be held in his honour at St. Andrews Presbyterian Church, 200 King Street West, Cobourg, Ontario, on Saturday, April 13th at 2:00 p.m. If so desired, donations in memory of John may be made to the Parkinson Society Canada at 1-800-565-3000 ext. 3301 or www.parkinson.ca

Dear Carol, A message I tried to send you has been returned. Your father, my cousin John, was a true Simpson. He and I were so fortunate to have the fathers we had, brothers in every respect, and examples to both of us. John carried on the family tradition, upright, forthright, loving, with a true regard for his fellow men and a sense of humour in every situation. Our thoughts are with you at this sad time. Dear Carol ... my Dad (George Wm Morrison) just called to share with me that he learned of your Dad's passing via the Birse family this afternoon. Our condolences to you at this time. I have many fond memories of you and your family, together with the Brownie family visits. Your Dad was indeed a gentle man and gentleman, with laughter and smiles being a prominent part of his personality.
