JOSEF PETRISKA Obituary

JOSEF PETRISKA March 15, 1929 - March 23, 2015 Peacefully in his sleep at home after a battle with cancer. Father of Ronald, Timothy, Tenley (predeceased), Breana (Tyler) and Darian. Loving grandpa/ "Bumpa" to Nicole and Bastian. Former husband of 35 years to Norma. He will be remembered for his artistic dedication to the environment, respect of nature and all of the wonderful things it provides us. A Celebration of Life will be announced at a later date. In lieu of flowers or donation, he would have loved a tree to be planted.

Mr. Petriska was our neighbour on Lakeshore Rd. He was such a nice man and a truly inspired artist. May his kind soul rest peacefully.

Dear Joseph,
You left behind a legacy in the form of your artwork. You engraved on lots of your work "Our Environment is Precious" - will they ever listen?
We have wonderful memories of spending time with you and your family over a long period of time in Oakville.
It was a privilege to have known you.

Josef
I will miss your good nature, your wonderful BBQ's, your passion to save the world and our friendship which goes back almost one half a century.
I will plant 10 Eastern White Pines in Muskoka in your honor.
I am sorry that you will miss the trip we were planning up north this summer, but I know your spirit will be found amongst all of nature.
