JOSEPH MIKLOSI Obituary

JOSEPH MIKLOSI
May 6, 1924 - June 30, 2013 Went to be with his Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ, at the age of 89, peacefully at the Elliott Nursing Home in Guelph, Ontario. Beloved husband of Mary Havasi, of Barrie. Born in Mezovari, Bereg Megye, Czechoslovakia, son of Bertalan and Juliana Debreceni Miklosi. Came to Canada in 1932 as a young child with his brother Bert and mother to join his father, who had previously come to Canada in 1928 to work and bring his family here, as so many immigrants have done. His sister Ann Bengert was born in Canada. Lived many years in the Fort Erie, Welland area, as well as Don Mills, and Barrie. Over 25 years an employee at the Toronto Transit Commission. Father to Michael Miklosi and Eunice Miklosi with first wife Lois (nee Carmichael). Dear brother to Bert Miklosi (Erzebet, deceased) of Welland and sister Ann Bengert (Peter, deceased) of Niagara Falls. Uncle to Shane Bengert (Shelley), Leighton Bengert (Jodie and children Quinn and Noelle), Bertalan Miklosi (Shelley and daughter Simone) and Linda Vanderlip (Keith and children Kayla and Julia). Step-father to John Potocska (Karen Stoddart), Nick Potocska (Pam and children Dara, Amy and Stacy), Joszef Patar (Lauren and children Dustin and Donovan), Mary Potocska-Krizmanic (Ivan) and George Potocska (and children Tyler, Carly and Amber). Joseph attended the Toronto Bible School and loved the Lord. He enjoyed attending church and reading his Bible at home. He was a longtime member at The Peoples Church in Toronto and later at Northwest United Church, Barrie. He was an avid Blue Jays and Toronto Maple Leafs fan and spent much time with family and friends watching and discussing their games. He loved his Friday walks to Harvey's restaurant for his favourite burger and fries. Joseph loved to play with his family cats. He was a kind, honest, thankful and unassuming man. Joseph dealt with several medical challenges throughout his life including Parkinson's disease and diabetes with courage and his unwavering faith in the Lord. He received loving support from his family at home and from his supportive, patient and loving nursing home family at the Elliott Community, particularly in his last weeks of struggle. His entire family would like to thank the staff at the Elliott for their sensitive and loving care of Joseph during his years of residency with them. Cremation has taken place. A celebration of Joseph's life will be held at Smith's Funeral Home, 485 Brant Street, Burlington on Friday, July 5, 2013 with visitation at 12 p.m. and service at 1 p.m., with urn interment at Burlington Memorial Gardens, Guelph Line, Burlington.
