Dear Anna and Family. Kris and I send our
sincere condolences for your loss. We have fond memories and will miss him. Our youth together in Polish Scouting was a great foundation of our growth as people. Joe was an exceptional leader, huge personality, outspoken, a talker, a doer, got involved and organized, volunteered, helped where he could always with a smile and his great sense of humour. Always in character to help someone and solve the problem. He was a very good goalie, cook, had a special dance talent, and his vocals singing Light my Fire and anything Credence was Joe in his best form in those special olden days. We had some amazing adventures going to Vancouver in 1967 by bus to celebrate Canada's Centennial for a month with a Jamboree stopover in Banff, and a station wagon which Joe and Richards Sachs drove with a kitchen an hour ahead of the yellow school bus with 40 scouts from all cities from the Eastern Druzynas. " Vancouver or Bust " was displayed at the front of the bus. We were housed in individual homes, Dom Polskis across the country, camped and met 6 mayors as we all traveled across Canada. Joe was an amazing pool player as well and displayed amazing pool shooting techniques along the way. Many pool hall stops. His leadership style was genuine, helpful, yet very comical, that was Joe. Then camp memories in 1968, and then a World Jamboree in Monte Cassino, Italy in 1969, a five week adventure of Italy and Europe. He was amazing again where he proved his great leadership skills and never ending comedy. Joe was special and big personality, friendly and loving. We kept in touch through our university days with Andy Maziarski and had some special moments. My only regret is I wish I had told him how much I enjoyed his friendship but he's gone.
