JOSEPHINE "JO" MINNAN-WONG

MINNAN-WONG, JOSEPHINE "JO" Surrounded by her loving family, Josephine "Jo" Minnan-Wong passed away suddenly, after a brief illness, on Wednesday, September 26, 2018. Josephine was born on May 27, 1930 in Timmins, Ontario to Maurice and Mary Ann Cazabon. She later moved to Windsor where she studied as a nurse at the Hotel Dieu. She met her loving husband Denzil at the local Catholic Bingo. They married in 1960 and spent the years to follow in the Toronto area raising their two daughters and a son. Josephine practiced as a nurse at the Hospital for Sick Children for over 25 years in the pediatric unit, serving as head nurse and later working part-time while raising her family. A longtime resident of Don Mills, Josephine will be remembered for her love of life and having a passion for politics and community service. Josephine was most proud of her family. Predeceased by her husband Denzil Sr., she is survived by her three children, Catherine (Steve), Patricia (Jeff) and Denzil (Colleen). Her grandchildren were the centre of her life and she will be greatly missed by Kimberly (John), Kaitlyn, Lauren, Sally, Erin and Samuel. Josephine is also survived by her loving brother Paul and sister-in-law Sharon. Visitation at PAUL O'CONNOR FUNERAL HOME, 1939 Lawrence Ave.E. (between Pharmacy and Warden) on Sunday, September 30, 2018, from 3-5 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral Mass on Tuesday, October 2, 2018, at 10 a.m. in Annunciation of the Blessed Virgin Mary Church (Victoria Park, south of Ellesmere). Interment following at Holy Cross Catholic Cemetery.
