June Audrey LAKING

(nee MARSHALL)

The family of June Audrey Laking sadly announces she passed away March 22, 2017, preceded in death by her husband Keith Laking. Wonderful mom to Wendy Chalmers (John) and Jeffrey Laking (Lisa). Adored Nana to Ian, Lindsey, Matthew, Jennifer, Nicole, Olivia and Kacie. June dedicated her life to the service of others as an elementary school teacher and as an active member of her church, where she initiated a social program called Care-Ring, as well as being keenly involved in the sponsorship of several refugee families. She was an avid knitter and seamstress. She enjoyed playing bridge, socializing with friends and most importantly being Nana to her seven grandchildren. The family will receive friends Thursday, March 30th from 7-9 p.m. at Morley Bedford Funeral Home (159 Eglinton Ave. West). Memorial service Friday, March 31st, 11 a.m. at Fairlawn Avenue United Church (28 Fairlawn Ave.), with a reception immediately following. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Alzheimer Society of Toronto would be appreciated.
