KAREN VIRTA Obituary

VIRTA, KAREN HELENA Born April 4, 1965 Died June 9, 2018 With immeasurable sorrow we announce the passing of our Karen, daughter, sister, partner, aunt, sister-in-law, niece, cousin and dear friend. We grieve the loss of this fiercely intelligent, open- minded and open-hearted woman who was generous of herself to a fault, often to the point of self-sacrifice. Karen lost everything to alcoholism. She was always a fighter, but couldn't win a battle where she could not see the enemy. May her tender and beautiful spirit find wings and soar high, free at last. Cremation has taken place. If desired, donations may be made to a charity of your choice.

I have just seen Karen´s obituary. We worked together in the Ontario government before I retired in 2012. I am so sad to hear of Karen´s demise. She was a good person and terribly good at her work. Thinking of her.

Karen's friendship meant a great deal to me, especially after she joined the same branch at MCI. She was truly a gem and ALWAYS a pleasure to be around. I am truly grateful for her having been in my life and remember her with great admiration.

I know we are all so saddened by Karen's death, as am I, but even in my sad moments I will cherish the special times with her...kind, generous, loving, happy, forgiving and wonderful in every way.
