KEITH MAXWELL MONKMAN August 15, 1927 - June 15, 2013 Passed away peacefully at his Brampton home on Saturday, June 15, 2013 in his 86th year with his loving and devoted wife Catherine (nee Crawford) by his side. Husband of Catherine, married 61 years. Loving father of Neil and Lori Monkman. Predeceased by sons Lloyd Monkman (1970) and Paul Monkman (1992). Caring Grandpa of Kristen and husband Brent Stephens, Holly Monkman and fiancé Henry Miller and Elizabeth Monkman. Proud Great-Grandpa to Natasha, Breyden and Trey Stephens. Brother to Ralph and Earlene Monkman. He will be sadly missed by many nieces, nephews and extended family. Keith was raised on a farm on Heart Lake Road in Brampton by his parents Maxwell Monkman and Annie Short. He began his successful farming career at the age of 17 years. Keith and Catherine began their life in the south Brampton community and then relocated in 1969 to their current homestead on Chinguacousy Road in northwest Brampton. In his younger years, Keith was an active and contributing member of many local farm organizations. Keith loved to farm and continued to farm into his early 80s, when Parkinson's Disease forced him to retire. Special thanks to Valerie, Michelle, Brenda, and staff of Comfort Keepers, Orangeville for their caring and support allowing Keith to stay in his home for these last months. Friends will be received at the Brampton Memorial Chapel & Visitation Centre, 10061 Chinguacousy Rd. (at Bovaird), 905-460-9155, on Wednesday, June 19, 2013 from 6:30 - 9:00 p.m. Funeral Service will take place in the Chapel on Thursday, June 20th at 11 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations in Keith's honour to a charity of your choice would be appreciated by the family.
