KENNETH GIDDINGS

GIDDINGS (P.E., M.ASCE), KENNETH With his family by his side, on Friday April 13, 2018, at the age of 89. Beloved and loving husband of Alice Elizabeth Giddings for 63 years. Cherished father of Guy Wilson Giddings, Debra Lynne Giddings Rodrigues, and Paul Antony Giddings. Adored grandfather of Jaclyn Loren Rodrigues, Justine Leigh Rodrigues, Kayla Elizabeth Giddings and Roman Kim. Born in March, Cambridgeshire, England on August 23, 1928, to Harold and Martha Giddings. Kenneth served in the Royal Air Force in Egypt for 9 months and attended the University of Manchester earning a Bachelor of Science Degree in Civil Engineering. Kenneth and Alice Giddings met in England, while Alice, who was from Australia, was traveling the world. They married in England on April 2, 1955 and had a son, Guy. To further his career, Kenneth, Alice and Guy moved to Canada where Debra and Paul were born. He took his family on a trip around the world in 1963 and he loved his cottage. Kenneth was well known for his incredible sense of humour. Kenneth started his own consulting business "Kenstruction Services Ltd." in 1975. A brilliant professional and a leader in his field, he worked all over Canada and U.S.A. as well as South Africa, Bermuda, Iceland, Switzerland and Mexico. He was a former Chairman of the Building Code Commission for Ontario. Kenneth's wife and family will dearly miss him. Memorial donations can be made to the Heart & Stroke Foundation.
