Ken was a wonderful person. I met him while I was working at Noranda and he made a lasting impression on me. Over the years he has often come to mind and I have asked myself "what would Ken do?". Always a champion of the underdog, I was a huge fan of his and it saddened me that we lost touch over the years. I still put money in the Salvation Army Kettles at Christmas time since that was all he asked in memory of his Mum who died many years ago.
I am saddened to hear that he has passed and that I did not know...I always find it tragic to think that people can slip away and because we have lost touch, we don't always know. I suppose it is symptomatic of the busy world we live in.
I will always have the fondest memories of Ken and will carry him close to my heart since he is often in my head still providing wise counsel after all these years. Rest in Peace Ken. You are missed.

No words can describe how influential Ken was to me. As a mentor in business he was always there for me, always ready to answer a question or provide advice. As a friend he was there even more.
Stephanie and I will miss Ken dearly but know we will meet again. Well done on a life well lived my friend.

It is with great shock and devastation that only hours before his death did I learn that Ken was so sick and dying of multiple cancers, including brain cancer. Ken wanted to protect me to the very end and his close friends, his extended family, complied with his wishes.
My twin bother and I loved each other unconditionally. He always made sure that his baby sister, by twenty minutes, came first. He continually showered me with love and affection as well as mentoring me also.
This spring I told Ken that even though he was my brother He was the smartest person I have ever I have ever known. He was a walking encyclopedia! The last nine months Ken and I have had the most extraordinary deep conversations.Ken started working for Noranda as a student placement officer at age sixteen and worked with them until he was 51 years...35 years in total.
Ken gave continually to charities to help others out and make a meaningful difference.
He donated to the Salvation army food bank every month. In one of our conversations he did indicate that so many people were dying from brain cancer that this would also become one of his charities to helps individuals and families
hope fully become brain cancer survivors.
Ken, I am sure, had great gratitude for all the love and care he received from the many doctors and nurses. Many thanks to Dr. Terry Winegard for being Kens' primary caregiver since 1973 Ken I will love you forever, my friend you will always be. Love your twin, Carolyn (Woodfine)

Throughout the twenty plus years and the many locations where we worked together, Ken was always a thoughtful, challenging and dedicated colleague. Away from work he enjoyed the finer things in life and Anne and I have seldom dined better than when Ken was cooking. We were saddened to read of his death, too young! Our sympathy goes out to his family and close friends.

I wish I had the words to express how much I will miss you. I know you have found peace and it is my sincere hope that those of us who knew you will find it soon as well. Rest well.
