KEVIN COURRIER Obituary

COURRIER, KEVIN 1954 - 2018 After a long battle with cancer, which he met with uncommon grace and courage, Kevin Courrier passed away peacefully on Friday, October 12, 2018 at Bridgepoint Active Healthcare, with two good friends at his side. Predeceased by his mother Sheila, Kevin leaves his father, Donald (Rosanne), his brothers Shawn (Lorna) and Scott, his nieces, Meaghan, Samantha and Sarah and nephew Hogan, step-father Albert Vezeau and numerous good friends, too many to mention. Kevin, who had a long career as producer and film critic in radio, was also a print journalist, author of five books, co-founder of cultural web site Critics at Large, and beloved teacher. A memorial service for Kevin will be held on November 25, 2018 at 4 p.m. at the Women's Art Association of Canada, 23 Prince Arthur Ave., Toronto. Donations in Kevin's memory can be made to Princess Margaret Cancer Foundation, Sarcoma Research Fund at: thepmcf.ca/KevinCourrier.

I had the pleasure of meeting and getting to know Kevin through dear friends in Toronto. His company was always gratifying and his aspect inspiring. A fine, wonderful spirit who will be missed. Sorry to not be at the memorial. Rest in peace, friend.

I met Kevin a few years ago when i had the good fortune to take one of his film courses at Ryerson University. He was an uncommonly bright, kind, loving and humble man. We took delight in discovering we grew up in the same town, Oshawa, and at one point, went to the same high school. I was delighted to get to know him a bit and was sorry we had not crossed paths more closely earlier in our lives.
