I was saddened to hear about Leandra’s passing. My heartfelt condolences to Newton, Karina and Ricardo.
I worked for Newton and Leandra at TOS back in the 70s. Leandra always treated me so kindly for the few years I worked there. Leandra was kind to everyone that worked or came through the doors on McNicoll Ave. She was always smiling and had grace and class. It’s been over 10 years since her passing and it is just recently I discovered this sad news.
Even though the time has passed, this still profoundly hurts my heart.

A Newton y Familia:
Querida amiga, te voy a extrañar mucho. Te fuiste demasiado pronto.
Un abrazo,
Callum y Marta Grant

Dear Newton and family;
Sadness and sympathy overflow my heart and thoughts when I think of Leandra's passing and the time you are living through right now.
When I think of Leandra, I remember lots of smiles, bright eyes, and a woman full of warmth with an enthusiam for life that lifted my spirit every time I met her.
She will be with us always in Spirit. May the Lord nourish you all, everyday and in every way.
Love;

Memory
I will try to say a few things today in memory of my mothers life, I’m not sure I will make it through the words, but my mother would want me to try.
Firstly I’d like the thank everyone for coming and helping celebrate the life of my mother. Especially for the unbelievable amount of love and kindness you have shown to our family during the most difficult times. Your love is a reflection of her spirit.
My mother saw beauty in everything. There was no pile of leaves or branches that she couldn’t imagine a masterpiece. She made an impression on everyone she met, that was her beauty. Her friendships were something she cherished; there was beauty in those too. Now I feel her in everything I cherish, every friend I have and of course every plant I see.
She gave me the things that profoundly shaped me as a person. But how do you condense a lifetime of teaching in a few sentences? How do you describe how some one teaches you how to see? How to feel things with your heart. How to create things with your mind. How to be the strongest, without necessarily being the loudest. It’s impossible to boil it down to a list. It’s everything.
However simplest things are the most important:
You need to love
You need to care
You need to feel
My mother’s spirit is carried with everyone she cared about. Everyone here, and with every smile we show.
As we start to move forward, please remember. You cannot walk though the sand without leaving a mark. Make sure that every step you take is step worth following.
I love you.
These are the beautiful words that Ricardo spoke at Leandra's service.
