My husband Bill and i were also warmly welcomed to Glebe Presbyterian Church by Lil Anthony. What a marvelous greeter she was! You felt she was welcoming you into her home. Later I was on Glebe's session with Lil. She was a positive force. RIP

Lily Anthony first greeted us at Glebe Presbyterian Church shortly after we emigrated to Toronto in 1974. She and
other church members welcomed us warmly.
We then moved far from Glebe and went to another church; but we returned in 2000, and Lil greeted us back again. She introduced us to many Church members who remain close friends to this day. As Glebe merged with Leaside Presbyterian we continued to see her in church.

In recent years she lived at a seniors building which includes Bethel Baptist Church. For years, ecumenical services at Bethel were sponsored by Leaside and Lily
often attended. A wonderful person who will be sorely missed by her family and all who knew her. --Jim and Joan Mars

Don and family my sincere condolences on the passing of your wonderful Mother Lily. She was a bright ray of sunshine at Meighen Manor and I enjoyed our greeting each other and chatting on my twice daily visits for years to see my late Mother Agnes and following my Mom's passing my weekly Sunday sojourns to Meighen Manor with my loyal dog Buddy Whatishisname. As you know I first me Lily decades ago when she volunteered at Sunnybrook. Hospital and would say hello as she happily directed traffic from her information desk on the ground floor in M Wing. Don you and your extended family and friends should take solace in the fact your care and loving gave Lily such a wonderful extended life. Don thinking of your Mom Lily daily will bring warmth to your heart and a smile to your face.

I was so sorry to see this news. "Mrs." Anthony was a wonderful person who did so much to brighten the lives of those around her. I remember when I was a child at Glebe, she was always helping out with whatever needed to be done, and at the annual picnics - always with a smile.
Later in life, I remember her as a tremendous support to my parents during their respective illnesses and stays at Sunnybrook, as well as the support she provided to our family during those difficult days. May she rest in perfect peace. My condolences to the family.

To My Beloved Ms. Lily whom I considered my second mother...I don't know how to start as my eyes are all cloudy and blurry now and I haven't even started saying my Last Goodbye... all i know is that i will surely miss you and i am in deep grief when I found out you left us a day before my scheduled shift...all i can remember now is the happy memories we both shared ... I remember every-time you saw me enter your room... you clapped like a child... and you give me a hug.. sometimes a kiss to thank me for nothing or just held my hand... I remember you worry about everyone but not to yourself... you never complained even though i can see the pain written all over your face.... i am so sad knowing i lost you but at the same time i am at peace knowing that you are now happy with our God Almighty in Heaven.... i know you will watch over me like you always do if you notice that i am running like crazy at work... you always tell me to rest a bit ... but I always told you.. YOU REST MOTHER! i will always remember you and our memories will be forever in my heart!!! I'm so Blessed to have met you and your wonderful family!!!! I will try to remember your happy face because i know .. that's what you want us to remember!!! I love you Mother ... Rest In Peace ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤..... it's me .. your Rowena.... I remember you even wrote down my name in your calendar the first day you met me.... i will really miss you. @ ISABEL ARTHUR MEIGHAN MANOR
