AUSTEN, Lorne - Peacefully at Extendicare, Port Hope on Sunday, February 15, 2009, in his 87th year. Lorne Austen, beloved husband of Betty Wass. Dear father Daniel, Debbie MacDonell (Peter) and Tom (Kelly). Loving grandfather Colin, Nicole, Ian, Heather, Madeleine, Fiona, Spencer and Vivienne. Brother of the late Orville and Norman. Lorne was a proud member of the 2nd Princess Patricia's Canadian Light Infantry 5th Battalion Light Anti-aircraft Regiment during W.W. II, where he helped liberate Sicily, Italy and Holland. He was always so proud of his service and of his brothers who are now serving around the world. Friends are invited to call at the Ross Funeral Chapel, 135 Walton St., Port Hope, Tuesday from 7 - 9 p.m. Service will be held in the Chapel on Wednesday, February 18th at 2 p.m. Interment Welcome Church Cemetery. Memorial donations to the Alzheimer Society would be appreciated and can be received at www.rossfuneralchapel.com
