LORRAINE BECKETT Obituary

LORRAINE BECKETT It is with great sadness that our family announces the passing of Lorraine on October 4, 2015 after a courageous battle with cancer, in her 69th year. Beloved wife of Ross, her husband of 50 years. Loving mother of Lynne (Rob) and Terry (Glenda) and proud grandmother to Mackenzie, Mariah, Brandon, Kaylin and Shayla. Predeceased by sister Joyce and fondly remembered by siblings Don, Laverne, Betty and Janet. She dedicated her life to her family, providing strength, guidance and unconditional love. She was a phenomenal baker, seamstress, gardener and had a new found passion for stained glass. There is a big hole in each of our hearts but our memories of her will be cherished forever. Special thanks to Dr. Hajra, nurses Vera, Deb, Carolyn and Cindy for their care and compassion. Family and friends will be received at the Dixon-Garland Funeral Home, 166 Main Street North (Markham Road), Markham, on Wednesday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Service will be held in the Chapel on Thursday at 11 a.m. Interment Bethesda Lutheran Cemetery. If desired, in lieu of flowers, donations to Markham Stouffville Hospital Foundation, Cancer Care Oncology would be appreciated.

My condolences to the family. I remember Lorraine from her visits to our law office. Her beautiful smile; her sense of humor and her kindness are just a few of the many characteristics that I presently remember. Rest in Peace Lorraine Beckett; I will pray for you and all of your loved ones that you may all find the peace and comfort during this time.

So sorry for the loss of such a beautiful & kind woman. I remember Lorraine from our stained glass classes, she was always so supportive & encouraging. She was also very kind to me when I was on my own sad journey with the loss of my husband Jamie almost two years ago. They are both at peace now - but still, so sad for those of us who are left to mourn. My thoughts & prayers are with you & your family.
