MARGARET BENNETT Obituary
BENNETT, MARGARET "RUTH" (nee FOGERTY) Ruth, age 90, died December 13, 2021 after a brief illness. B.A. (Hons) McMaster '52, MLS UofT '75. Predeceased by her parents, Margaret and Charlie Fogerty; and her brother, Doug Fogerty. Dear mother of Chris, Margie, and Graham. She was a cherished grandmother, aunt, and friend. Ruth doted on her family. An enthusiastic, and devoted children's librarian before her retirement, Ruth took pleasure in reading, and instilled the same love in many. Ruth was an active and generous supporter of many just causes including civil and equal rights, peace initiatives, and refugee support groups, among others. In our thoughts daily, Ruth's family is grateful to have had such a gentle, loving mother, aunt, and grandmother. Love you Mum/Gramie xo

Ruth worked with me at North York Central Library's Children's Department. As children's librarians, we loved connecting children with books and feeding their imaginations. I send my condolences.

It is with great fondness that I remember Ruth. She was a person with high ideals and a strong service orientation. She will be dearly missed by her family.
