Margaret Lee Obituary

LEE, Margaret Lois (nee Cumming) - April 28, 1926 - September 12, 2010 Quietly on Sunday evening at Rockwood Terrace Nursing Home in Durham, Ontario at the age of 84 years. Dr. David Walley and the nursing staff and attendants provided exceptional care to Lois while she was at Rockwood. Born in Teulon, Manitoba to Olive Lyle Archibald and Hugh Duncan Cumming. She attended The College of Teachers in Winnipeg and worked for the Manitoba Department of Education as a school teacher and principal. In 1952, Lois married Cyril Ruddy Lee and moved to Valleyfield, Quebec where she gave birth to her only son Hugh and met her lifelong friends Bill and Barbara Winfield. Lois was predeceased by her husband Cyril, brothers Bill and Jack and sisters Jean and Helen. Survived by her sister Agnes who now resides in Tecumseh, Ontario. Her daughter-in-law Marlene and her grandchildren Eric and Karen gave her great pride and pleasure. Lois will be missed but fondly remembered by all who knew her as a compassionate and giving person with a wonderful zest for life. When it became challenging she never complained and was very courageous. A family memorial service will be held held on Friday, September 17th at the Church of the Atonement, Etobicoke, ON. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made the Canadian Lung Association.

I wish to extend my condolences to Hugh and all of Lois's friends and family. A great loss of a very private, brave and brilliant woman. I shall miss her always.
