DA SILVA, MARIA "PALMIRA" Resendes Furtado On November 17, 2021 heaven gained another angel: Maria 'Palmira' Resendes Furtado da Silva passed away peacefully in her sleep surrounded by loved ones. She was born in Água Retorta, São Miguel, to José Furtado and Maria da Encarnação Resendes. Loving mother to Mariano (Margarida), Viriato (Ermelinda), Antonio (Linda), and Anacleto. Beloved Vavó to Stephanie, Victoria, Jennifer, Ryan, Matthew, Naomi, Susan, Austin, Kaitlynn, and Jace. Bisavó to Maya, Natalie and Elizabeth. Palmira is survived by her sister Maria de Encarnação and predeceased by her husband Mariano da Silva. A true family woman, she was happiest surrounded by her children and grandchildren. Her humour and spirit will forever be remembered in the hearts of her loved ones and friends. Special thank you to the staff at Kensington Gardens who helped make Palmira's last years comfortable and enjoyable.
