Marie Ganko Obituary
Passed away peacefully on July 21, 2015 after a heroic battle with cancer at the age of 85. Predeceased by her husband Mykolaj. Survived by her brother Mischa (Lynne) and her many nieces, nephews and family members. She was a strong, supportive, very active part of the church who will miss her. Maria was a strong, beautiful and incredibly kind woman. She was impeccably thoughtful and full of love for others. She bettered the lives of many and she will be forever loved and missed. Friends may call at PINE HILLS CEMETERY & VISITATION CENTRE, 625 Birchmount Rd., Scarborough (north of St. Clair Ave. E., 416-267-8229) for visitation on Friday, July 24th from 7-9 p.m. Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, July 25, 2015 at 11 a.m. with visitation one hour prior. Interment to follow at Pine Hills Cemetery.

I Will always remember Mrs. Ganko as a strong kind and giving woman. I will especially remember the hockey sweaters that she knitted for my brother Ed and cousin John. She will be missed. My condolences to the family.

We were very saddened to hear of Maria's passing. We - Algherd, myself and Susan - fondly remember visiting her at 43 Preston St. and her excellent home cooked meals. She was so overjoyed when Su & I married in 2011, as she knew all about the Akula family to every last detail, especially the challenges they faced. She had a special place in her heart for Algherd. We believe she & her husband are joyfully reunited! Our deepest condolences.
