Marilyn (lyn) Lamb Obituary

MARILYN (LYN) RUTH LAMB

(nee PARENT)

After spending the last 8 years bravely combatting Progressive Supranuclear Palsy (PSP), Lyn passed away quietly on Sunday, September 18, 2016 in the Palliative Ward at Oakville Trafalgar Memorial Hospital (OTMH). Born May 24, 1935 in Ottawa, Lyn was the only daughter of Louis and Rose Parent (deceased). Beloved wife of fifty-seven years to James (Jim) Lamb who passed away earlier this year. Devoted and beautiful mother of sons Brett (Theresa), Brad (Catriona) and Blair (Angela). Proud and incredibly engaged grandmother of Tyler, Connor, Austin, Ryan, Lauren and Harlowe. Prior to meeting Jim, Lyn was trained as a Registered Nurse in Vancouver. After fifteen years of guiding the growth of her three sons, Lyn returned to nursing at Lakeshore General Hospital in Montreal and then continued in the Emergency Department at Oakville Trafalgar Memorial Hospital for close to two decades. Jim and Lyn's non-parental passions were skiing, travelling, entertaining and later in life, golf. They travelled to Europe's finest ski resorts for 30 years with a group of terrific and crazy friends. Lyn became an avid golfer and was a proud member at the Oakville Golf Club as well as the Cottonwood Golf Club in Sun Lakes, Arizona. One of the worst effects of PSP was Lyn losing the ability to play her cherished golf. Mom, Grandma, "Marni" and Lyn will be greatly missed by all her family and friends. The family is grateful for the care she received at OTMH's 6 Central and 3 North. As per her wishes, cremation has taken place. A celebration of Lyn's life will be held on Thursday, October 13, 2016 from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. at the Oakville Golf Club, 1154 Sixth Line, Oakville, Ontario, 905-845-8321.

So little is understood of this devastating disease. As a family we coped with little support and understand the sadness you are experiencing. God bless.
