LAXON, Mary Elizabeth "Bette" (nee BURNS) Peacefully, after a lengthy illness at Joseph Brant Hospital on Thursday, August 31, 2017 at the age of 88. Beloved wife of Roy Laxon. Loving mother of Janet Howe (Jim) and Gregory Brown (René). Step-mother of Ashley Laxon (Rebecca), Clare Laxon, Gary Laxon (Sharon) and Rachael Cabrera (Paul). Cherished grandmother of 7 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren. As per Bette's wishes, cremation has taken place. Celebration of Life will be held at SMITH'S FUNERAL HOME, 1167 Guelph Line (one stoplight north of QEW), Burlington (905-632-3333), on Thursday, September 14, 2017 at 1 p.m. In lieu of flowers, those wishing to make a donation in memory of Bette are asked to please consider a charity of choice. www.smithsfh.com
