Mary MALONE Obituary

MALONE, Mary Frances 1921 - 2017 With family by her side Mary, the lady with her welcoming smile passed away peacefully on Friday, December 29, 2017 at Canterbury Place Retirement Home. Predeceased by her parents John and Margaret (nee Ryan) Malone and her brother Jack Malone. Loving Aunt of Jean (nee Malone) and husband Edward Hughes. Dear Great-Aunt of Christine Hughes-Butler and her husband Michael Butler, Ryan Hughes and his wife Laurie Warwick, and cherished Great-Great-Aunt of Preston, Pierce, Michaela and Griffin. With her loving kindness and welcoming smile she touched the hearts of her adoring family and all those close to her. Mary was a dedicated, self-giving employee for 37 years with I.B.M as a Manager in the Personnel Dept. Upon retirement her love of children brought her to volunteering at St. Gabriel's Catholic Elementary School and Cardinal Leger School in primary classrooms. Our family is deeply appreciative to the staff of Canterbury Place for their loving care given to Mary during her stay. Mary's hobbies were bridge, golfing, travel and watching as many Blue Jays games as possible. A Funeral Mass will be held at St. Gabriel's Parish, 670 Sheppard Ave. E., on Saturday, January 6, 2018 at 10 a.m. In lieu of flowers, please offer donations to the Hospital for Sick Children. Condolences may be forwarded to the family through www.rskane.ca

Mary was a great lady with a big smile and was always a joy to be with. When asked about her health she was always "fine." I missed taking her to mass, and miss her presence there still.

My sincere condolences to Mary's family. Mary hired me in 1964 and she will always be remembered. That smile has never changed.
