SPRATT, Mary Elizabeth Jane (nee BOOTHE) In her 88th year peacefully at The Dorothy Ley Hospice in Etobicoke, on April 18, 2018. Beloved wife of the late Donald Charles for 44 years. Cherished mother of Peter (Lori), David (Dana), Nancy Bowen (Derek) and Brian (Debbi). Devoted grandmother of Emily, Melissa, Kevin, Stephen, Jennifer, Stephanie and Jonathan. Great-Grandmother to Valerie and Mia. Much loved sister to Jack (deceased), Jim, Helen, and Bill. Born in Toronto, Mary was "Beacher" for most of her life. She began her early work career at 16 working at Lillico Ltd. and then Burroughs Business Machines heading up the business school. She and Donald married in 1955 and settled in the Beach to raise their 4 children. After Mary retired from a successful Special Education teaching career, she was a top real estate agent working in the Beach with Don and daughter Nancy. Mary's summers were spent at her much-loved cottage on Healey Lake with sunsets and loons. Her cruising days were many with over one hundred logged trips with friends Pauline and Catherine. Her last was just a year ago with Nancy and nurse Steph. After Don's passing Mary moved to Guelph, then to Mississauga, and finally to Etobicoke to be close to family. All along the way she made friends, was a Red Hat Queen Mom and organized trips and outings. Bridge, ballet, and theater were some of her favorite pastimes. Thank you to Dr. Adrian Savin for his long time care and guidance which went above and beyond. Mary was a go getter her whole life. Her confident dynamic personality came through in all her endeavors. She will be missed by all who knew her. A celebration of her life will be planned at a future date.
