Paul, Cvetka, Robert, Stephen, and family
It was a priviledge to share the brief time I had with Matthew at Dalhousie. We certainly had some wonderful times together and I shall treasure them always. I have a small garden in my kitchen window that Matthew brought to me the day I retired from Dalhousie. Each time I water it I still feel close to him. Thank you for being part of my extended family. My thoughts and prayers are with you.
Love to all,

Linda

I met Matthew and you the parents once in December during a lunch. I was in utter disbelief when I heard of the news today. Words cannot express my sorrow since I myself have dealt with heart failure from a young age. I guess God had other plans for him. The why him are questions I am constantly asking myself, just like I am sure you are. I remember his smile, hs positive attitude, your love for him that one and only time met the 3 of you. I promse i will keep his story alive.

Dear Mr. & Mrs. Antolin and family,
Matthew was in my son, Mark's, P.A.C.E. class at St. Peter's. I remember that Matthew was a very respectful and polite young man who always greeted me with a smile whenever I he saw me. I was very saddened to learn of his passing. I cannot imagine the sorrow you are feeling at the loss of a child (and you have been through this grief before), however, please know that I will keep your son in my prayers because he was part of my son's life journey and because I'm sure that he grew to be a wonderful young man. The world has lost a great person. My sincere condolences, Tina DiGiandomenico

Dear Cvetka, Paul, Robert and Stephen,
The Antolin & Zoldos Family
It is with great sadness that I learned of the death of Matthew.
In these moments words are useless and only friendship and love of your family count.
Beyond the sorrow, it will be the little things that you will remember, the quiet happy moments spent together, his smile, his laughter and his passion for life and family. Although it may seem hard right now,it will be the memories of these little things that help to push away the pain and bring the smiles back again.
I cannot be there for the funeral, but I'll be there in spirit to accompany you and your family.
I am sending you virtual hugs with all my thoughts and prayers.

Mr. & Mrs. Antolin (Robert & Stephen),

Matthew was a truly outstanding young man, as are your other boys & it has been an absolute honor and privilege to get to know each one of you over the last several years. You have both done a phenomenal job in raising such beautiful sons (inside and out) and creating an amazing life for each one of them; despite all of the hurdles placed before you.

Living by your example and guidance, Matthew became a true inspiration to many, including myself. He was one of the most selfless people I've ever known - always putting other's needs before his own; he was courageous; his smile and happy spirit were contagious & a memory I will always hold on to; and he was always an absolute joy to be around or chat with.

I will continue to hold each one of you in my heart and lift you up in prayer. I pray that all of the wonderful memories of Matthew's time here with you on earth will keep you strong and I pray that the Lord will hold each of you close to Him and keep you comforted.

Love and blessings to each of you.

To the Antolin Family: Matthew will be dearly missed by myself and the SMC community.

Matt: We shared many classes at SMC, but we first got to know each other as "niners" spending many a Majors games selling 50/50 tickets when the Majors played out of Maple Leaf Gardens and the special home games at the ACC. I am happy that we were able to stay in touch all these years and that we were able to catch up at our 10 Year anniversary at the Turkey Roll. You will always be remembered. RIP.

Dear Stric Paul, Teta Cvetka, Steve and Rob. Words can't describe the sadness that has been following me around for the past few days. I am extremely proud to call Matthew my cousin, as he lived his life in such a selfless manner. As a child and adolescent, I remember Matthew as being a determined problem solver, always looking to help his family. There are so many memories of him organizing garage sale and fishing trips up at the cottage, and being the first to rent the movies and pick up the marshmallows for the bonfire so that all the cousins would be happy. Somehow amazingly, he once even convinced the Howard Johnson to lend 9 kids GameGear systems on our family trip to Ottawa. That was the type of determined and tenacious person he was. Over the years, I never once heard Matthew complain about the hand he was dealt concerning his health. Had my parents never told me in my late teens, I would have never known about his condition, simply because he never let it show, or used it as an excuse. He will be truly missed by the many people whose lives he touched, but our memories of him will help us all see the brighter side of life.

Paul, Cvetka, Robert and Stephen,
I was so saddened to hear of Matthew's sudden passing. Just weeks ago, I received word that you and Matt visited us on the unit. I was so delighted to hear he looked healthy and strong. I witnessed first hand the remarkable strength and motivation that Matt had to fight for life. He never complained even on his darkest days. He was always polite and respectful and faced each day with optamism. I believe this is directly a result of the relentless love and support you gave him every single day. You carried him through the most difficult of times and he thrived because of the amazing 'team' he had. A true inspiration! He touched many hearts. Mine being just one of many. I hope you remain strong and know his spirit lives on.

I am so sorry to hear of your loss. A spouse who loses a spouse is called a widow or widower. A child who loses a parent is called an orphan, but a parent who loses a child has no name.
