Maureen had such a zest for life that nothing and no one could dull her enthusiasm. Her passion for animals, opera, antiques, gardening, yard sales, entertaining, dining, dancing, and fashion knew no bounds. In spite of numerous setbacks, Maureen could summon boundless energy to keep going. She was the most resourceful person and managed to turn every downfall into just another experience. Her determination and love of life and all of its experiences kept her going. In our last conversation in May, when she informed me of the progress of her cancer, she made it very clear that in spite of knowing there was a "life hereafter" she did not want to die. She loved life on this earth. But in spite of her fiery determination, she has been called "home". My life is richer for having known her and I believe that heaven has prepared a wonderful reception for her. God bless you, Maureen.
