Mehtab Shaikh Obituary

DR. MEHTAB UDDIN SHAIKH The Shaikh family is sad to report the death of Dr. Mehtab Uddin Shaikh, who died suddenly on March 18th 2011 in Karachi, Pakistan. He was buried at the family cemetery in Karachi alongside his mother and older brothers. Dr. Shaikh was 75 years old and had recently retired as a family physician from a thriving practice in the Greater Toronto Area. He was known for his outrageous sense of humour, generosity and his passionate love of gardening and cooking. He is survived by his wife, Margaret (Surraya) Shaikh and his five children: Dr. Omer Shaikh, Dr. Saeed Shaikh, Dr. Kaleem Shaikh, Shereen Shaikh and Sofia Shaikh. He is also survived by his seven grandchildren. He will be deeply missed by friends and family. There will be a Quran reading in his honour on Sunday, March 27th 2011 from 4 - 6 p.m. at the ISNA Mosque, 2200 South Sheridan Way, Mississauga, ON. For our non-Muslim friends who wish to pay their respects, we will be receiving visitors at the ISNA Mosque from 6 p.m. onwards, Insha'Allah.
