I just heard of Melanie's passing today. I'm so sorry for your loss. I met Melanie when I would bring my Dad to Sunnybrook for the ALS meetings that Melanie would chair. My Dad had great admiration for Melanie and she of him I think. She always called him a Prince. A family has lost a loved one and the ALS community has lost one of their greatest Champions.
My heartfelt condolences,
Shelley Johnston Hilditch & family

Melanie was an amazing inspiration for everyone privileged to be in her radiant circle of light. She was an amazing advocate for everyone impacted by ALS and traveled her own ALS journey with strength and dignity. You will be dearly missed Melanie. RIP

Melanie was a true angel - filled with light, love and sage wisdom ... and I will never forget her beautiful spirit. This is the poem a wordsmith created with Mel in mind. Mel will always be my hero and I will miss her beyond the beyond every day.

To embrace whatever path we are presented with, to move onward with grace, to understand spirit no matter what form it comes in, this is the way to unravel mystery and find the mystic beauty within all rise and fall.
Fine rhythm of life, it serves us with wonder and in turn all we can do is celebrate what we have at best and aim to what comes next with infinite interest.
