Michael Gedz Obituary

GEDZ, Michael - Passed way suddenly October 20, 2011 at the age of 89. Beloved husband of 54 years to Helen (Olena). Loving father to Michael (Debbie) and Joanne (James Chepyha). Dear grandfather "Dido" of Alexandra (Mike Wecker), Christian and Daniel and great- grandfather "Papa" of Lily and Violet. Michael will be greatly missed by all of his extended family in Canada and the Ukraine. The family will receive friends at the OGDEN FUNERAL HOME, 4164 Sheppard Ave. E., Agincourt (east of Kennedy Rd.) on Monday from 5-9 p.m. Panachyda service Monday 7 p.m. Funeral Mass to be celebrated at Sts. Peter and Paul Ukrainian Catholic Church, 1490 Markham Rd., Scarborough on Tuesday morning at 10:00 a.m. Interment Pine Hills Cemetery. Donations to The Crohn's and Colitis Foundation or to a charity of your choice would be appreciated.

Helen, Michael, Joanne and family; I was saddened to hear about Mike's death. I know the good family memories you shared over the many years together will be cherished. I will remember you all and Mike in my prayers, sorry I couldn't be there in person to support you, you were always there for us when Mom and Dad passed away. Helen,
We were shocked, and saddened to hear of Mike's death. So many good memories came flooding through of all the great times spent with you and Mike, Michael, Debbie, Alexandra and Christian, and Joanne and James. Laughter, good conversations about food, tradition, the garment industry, family, and gardening. Just as our memories will keep Mike close to us, we know that your memories will keep him forever in your hearts and be the strength that carries you all through this difficult time.
