Michael Kuzmich Obituary

KUZMICH, Michael J., Ph.D - August 23, 1932 - January 12, 2012 A beloved husband to Natalie, a wonderful Dad to John and Andrea, to daughter-in-law, Anne Marie and son-in-law, Shalva, a loving grandfather to Luca and Gabriel. Michael was an outstanding individual with extraordinary talents and many interests; a person whose honesty, generosity and sense of humour were exceptional. His ALS was challenging Unable he was To respond to what His imaginative and creative mind Urged him to do. He did suffer - But what a mind Restless and undaunted. We will miss him As we continue to celebrate his life. ALS is a horrendous disease and is always fatal, usually a death sentence within 2 years of diagnosis. Not enough research is done to further a cure for ALS and as such, a donation in the name of Michael Kuzmich to Sunnybrook ALS research will go a long way to support advancements in the search for a cure. Sunnybrook is one of the leading ALS research facilities in the world and has done much to further the understanding of ALS. Sunnybrook also exemplified the treatment and care given to Michael and other ALS patients for which the family is eternally grateful. Please ensure that the "in memory donation" box is selected and Michael Kuzmich's name goes in the comments box so that the donation will be earmarked for ALS research. Your gift will be greatly appreciated. (https://donate.sunnybrook.ca/ SSLPage.aspx)

We met thirty years ago, became friends, and our friendship never wavered. He was a loving and caring friend. He was a brilliant man – a man of integrity who guided and inspired me throughout our friendship. Goodbye my friend, you will greatly be missed.

Sincere condolences to Natalie and family.

Our sincere condolences to you and family, Natalie. I had the honour of being a colleague with Mike at Seneca for 15 years. He was always light-hearted, humorous, but serious at his duty as an educator and very much dedicated to his students. I miss him, ... William Mak, Hong Kong

Celebrating a life well lived. We will cherish the memories forever. For 25 years we shared the same office together. We worked, we argued, fought, we laughed and lamented together. So long, Mike. Miss you.

As a former student of Dr. Kuzmich's, I have fond memories of his Science classes at Sir John A MacDonald Collegiate. He was a kind and sensitive scientist and never took himself too seriously. One of the best teachers I had the honour of knowing. My sincere condolences to Natalie and family.
