MICHAEL LANDON Obituary

LANDON, MICHAEL ANDREW October 2, 1963 - July 11, 2022 We lost Michael in a tragic accident at the family cottage on Wollaston lake. He is survived by his daughters, Kaileigh and Jessica; his brothers, Neal and Russell (Donna); and his parents, Heather and Barry. Lovingly remembered by Lynn, Francis; and his nieces and nephews: Brendan, Aidan, Samantha, Nicole, Ashleigh and Michele. As a young boy he was a Boy Scout and held all the lifesaving awards including 'instructor'. He was a counselor at Camp Pine Crest and an excellent canoeist. He also sang the lead role in East York Collegiate's production of God Spell. Michael was employed for many years by the East York and Toronto District Board of Education. He will be missed by his colleagues and pupils. Michael was very personable and remained good friends with many of his school buddies and took part in various recreation activities, including baseball and serving a decade as captain of his dart team. He had a wide range of interests and could hold meaningful conversations on a number of subjects. But his favourite hobby was always fishing with a couple of friends. Michael's genuine kindness and enthusiasm will be missed by all those who had the distinct pleasure of meeting him. He was one in a million and will be greatly missed. Celebration of Life: Saturday, July 23, 2022 Arta Gallery - 14 Distillery Lane, Toronto, Ontario Arrival 12 p.m., Service 1 p.m., Reception 2-4 p.m. In lieu of flowers, our family is requesting donations be made to a Charity of Your Choice.

We are so devastated to hear of Mike's tragic passing. Sincere and heartfelt sympathy to you all, especially Lyn and his daughters who we knew way back in the 80's-90's. Mike especially meant a great deal to my daughter Nicole who loved him dearly when she was a little girl back in the 80's. He spent time with her, playing, interacting and even taught her how to swim. After many others failed to help her conquer her fear, Mike did just that. She is saddened to hear this news and also sends on her condolences. May memories sustain you all. With love and prayers.

I had the pleasure of working closely with Michael for years at George Peck. He cared deeply for all the kids that passed through our room. He believed in them and helped his students believe in themselves. He was so enthusiastic and had a real passion for History and for Reading. His enthusiasm could hook even the most reluctant students. He was the best teaching partner and a true friend. The room won't be the same without you, Landon!

I am deeply saddened to learn of this news. His last year at EYCI was my first. He was a superbly gifted singer, musician and entertainer.
I remember his musical talents shone brightly in Godspell. The angels can now sing with the best of the best. Gone too soon.

It´s so hard to accept that Mike has passed. The best neighbour anyone could ask for. He could talk our ears off but was always interesting for the range of topics and knowledge he possessed. Our most sincere condolences Kaileigh, Jessica, Neal and family.
