Michael MUNGY Obituary

MUNGY, Michael Walter - December 8, 1935 - April 1, 2013 Surrounded by family, Michael passed away at Ajax-Pickering Hospital. Son of the late Anne and Michael J. Mungy. Beloved father of Michael N. (Christine), Jonathan (Deb) and Lucinda Mungy (Darrin). Fondly remembered by his former wife Marene Mungy. Dear brother of Irene Currie and the late Deanne Meraska. Will be missed by grandchildren Michael, Alison, Alexandria and Jonathan Mungy, as well as Owen and Warren Schofield. Will be remembered by his aunt, many cousins, nieces and nephews. Michael was a longtime member of the IBEW, Local 353 (retired). Cremation has taken place. A memorial for friends and family will be held at a later date.

Many fond memories of spending summers in Fenelon Falls with Uncle Mike, Aunt Marene, and family. Always had so much fun. Favourite memory - Uncle Mike doing his best imitation of a short order cook except that the griddle was on a slant and all the eggs slid off onto the floor. Priceless. Thinking of you all!

I am so proud to have had an uncle like my uncle Mike. When my mother was sick with cancer herself, his main concern was that SHE was taken care of. Several times he expressed that he was happy that my brother Steve and I were great advocates for her well being.
For my 10th birthday he made a gameboard from his own hands for me. I still have that gameboard, and like that gameboard thew memories with stay with me forever.
