MICHAEL REAGAN Obituary
REAGAN, MICHAEL MITCHELL October 16, 1923 - February 8, 2022 Michael passed away peacefully at Oakville Trafalgar Memorial Hospital in his 99th year. Michael was born in Wakaw, Saskatchewan and grew up on the family farm. He proudly graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Ceramic Engineering degree in 1946 and became a Professional Engineer in 1948. Michael relocated to Toronto and met his beloved wife Helen, and they were married for 57 years until her passing in 2007. Michael and Helen moved to Galt, Ontario where he worked as General Manager at Stamped and Enamel Ware in Hespler. Under Michael's leadership, his team creatively designed and built an innovative assembly line process that revolutionized the enamelling of panels used to manufacture many kitchen, laundry room and bathroom fixtures and appliances. In 1971 Michael became President of Ferro Canada in Oakville until his retirement in 1988. An avid golfer, Michael was the President of the Galt Golf and Country Club where he also enjoyed curling, and then an active member of Mississauga Golf and Country Club for more than 35 years. You always wanted Mike on your scramble team . Florida and then Arizona were winter homes for Michael and Helen, with both places adding new found friends and a haven for family trips. Many hours were spent by Michael touring his grandchildren around the Arizona neighbourhood in his golf cart, with the odd 5 year old at the wheel. Predeceased by his beloved wife Helen Reagan, son Donald Reagan, parents Peter and Effie Schitka, sister Anne Welsh and brother Fred Schitka. Papa will always be dearly loved and missed by his sons Gerry and David Reagan, daughters-in-law Susan and Valerie, and beloved grandchildren Michelle, Matthew, Monica, and Nicole, and many friends. Michael displayed amazing strength during his challenges with Parkinson's. He will always be remembered for his generous nature, enduring devotion and love for his family. The family would like to sincerely thank the caring staff who looked after him at Oakville Trafalgar Memorial Hospital as well as the staff at Amica Bronte Harbour. Cremation has taken place. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
