Michael Samuels Obituary

MICHAEL A. SAMUELS a.k.a. FROGGY (1967 - 2008) It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Michael A. Samuels on Friday, October 17, 2008, age 41. Michael will always be remembered as a man who seized each day living life to the fullest. Full of energy and love. Cherished his family and friends. He was a dedicated family man as well as a great friend to all. Michael's quiet strength and optimism was an inspiration to all. Sharing 18 years of marriage and a loving companion and best friend to his wife Anna, Michael will be lovingly remembered as a devoted and caring husband. An enthusiastic and fun loving father, Michael adored his two children, Nathaniel and Jared, and will always be the greatest father. Dear son of Joseph and Ina Samuels and beloved brother of Dwain. A loving uncle to Jaden, Sabrina, Tristan, Sophia and Kaila. He will be greatly missed by his aunts, uncles and cousins. His family will treasure the many wonderful times and memories they shared with him in his lifetime, and will keep him close to their hearts forever. Visitation will be held at the PINE HILLS VISITATION, CHAPEL & RECEPTION CENTRE (625 Birchmount Rd., north of St. Clair, Scarborough, 416-267-8229) on Monday, October 20 from 6:00 - 9:00 p.m. and Tuesday, October 21 from 2:00 - 4:00 p.m. and 7:00 - 9:00 p.m. Friends are invited to join the family in a celebration of Michael's life at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, October 22 at the Ebenezer Tabernacle Revival, 1228 Birchmount Road, Scarborough. A reception with the family will follow immediately in the church hall. For those who wish, donations in Michael's memory may be made to the Liver Foundation. ?Wherefore, comfort one another with these words." (1 Thess. 4:13-18.) And these, indeed, are the only words which can give lasting comfort to a spirit whom such an occasion hath wounded. Why should I be so unreasonable, so unkind, as to desire the return of a soul now in happiness to me, -- to this habitation of sin and misery; since I know that the time will come, yea, is now at hand, when, in spite of the great gulf fixed between us, I shall shake off these chains and go to him??

Oh death where is your sting?
Oh grave where is your Victory?

A cloud maybe looming at noonday and weeping may endure for a night but joy comes with the morning light

Oh death where is your sting?

Sorrow or mourning may have been for a time but, His rod and His staff they have comforted me

He has turned for me, my mourning into dancing and has led me by still waters and brought me to rest in pastures of green

Oh death where is your sting?

This tent of Clay has had the privilege to stay here a while but fear not, for when this tent has gone, the spirit man lives on

One glorious day, we shall meet again and reign together with Him throughout all of eternity

Victory, victory shall my song ever be for at long last oh grave, have I triumphed over thee

Oh grave where is your victory?

To the Samuels family:

I went to highschool with Michael for awhile and while I didn't know the man he'd become, I have nothing but fond memories of the young man he was. His passing came way too soon, but may you take some comfort in knowing he is at peace and in a better place awaiting the day he will see you all again. This isn't goodbye.

my cousin Froggy, your presence will be missed by all who were blessed to have known you. Anna and the kids, Auntie and Uncle, and Bones, I hope that the days will get better and easier for you. And to all who have been touch by this man, we must try not to mourn the loss of a remarkable man, but to cherish the memories and reflect on the life he had. Micheal, you will be missed.

The Legacy of a True Man is found in what he leaves behind. Michael has impacted the lives of many. He has passed on the mantel to his next generation. He's spirit will undoubtably live on.

Pastor Sam, Mrs. Samuels, Dwain and Family, & Anna and Family.

We wish you the peace that passes all understanding. May you find strength and solace in the days that lie ahead. May God continue to guide and bless you through your journey.

I have very fond memories growing up with Michael. I remember the Tuc crackers that Sis. Ina would give us in church as our snack - that one stands out. I'm sorry that I won't be able to attend the home going service, but I will be there in spirit. I am continuing to pray for the Samuels family during this time, Pastor, Sis. Ina (Granny) Anna and kids, Dwain and kids - may you find comfort in each other at this time and know that you are surrounded by love.

To Daddy Joe, Aunt Ina and family:

I am saddened to hear of your loss and will keep you and your family in our prayers as you grieve. I saw this poem and thought it would be nice to share: Love Beth Amy and Family

To my dearest family, some things I'd like to say...
but first of all, to let you know, that I arrived okay.
I'm writing this from heaven. Here I dwell with God above.
Here, there's no more tears of sadness; here is just eternal love.

Please do not be unhappy just because I'm out of sight.
Remember that I'm with you every morning, noon and night.
That day I had to leave you when my life on earth was through,
God picked me up and hugged me and He said, ""I welcome you.""

It's good to have you back again; you were missed while you were gone.
As for your dearest family, they'll be here later on.
I need you here badly; you're part of my plan.
There's so much that we have to do, to help our mortal man.

God gave me a list of things, that he wished for me to do.
And foremost on the list, was to watch and care for you.
And when you lie in bed at night, the day's chores put to flight.
God and I are closest to you....in the middle of the night.

When you think of my life on earth, and all those loving years
because you are only human, they are bound to bring you tears.
But do not be afraid to cry; it does relieve the pain.
Remember there would be no flowers, unless there was some rain.

I wish that I could tell you all that God has planned.
But if I were to tell you, you wouldn't understand.
But one thing is for certain, though my life on earth is o'er.
I'm closer to you now, than I ever was before.

There are many rocky roads ahead of you and many hills to climb;
but together we can do it by taking one day at a time.
It was always my philosophy and I'd like it for you too...
that as you give unto the world, the world will give to you.

If you can help somebody who's in sorrow and pain,
then you can say to God at night......""My day was not in vain.""
And now I am contented....that my life has been worthwhile,
knowing as I passed along the way, I made somebody smile.

So if you meet somebody who is sad and feeling low,
just lend a hand to pick him up, as on your way you go.
When you're walking down the street, and you've got me on your mind;
I'm walking in your footsteps only half a step behind.

And when it's time for you to go.... from that body to be free,
remember you're not going.....you're coming here to me.
