MICHAEL STOYANOFF Obituary

MICHAEL STOYANOFF Peacefully in his sleep on the morning of Thursday, May 28, 2015 at Castleview Wychwood T owers. Loving husband of 66 years to Virginia (nee Johnston). Devoted father to David, Robert (Lesley), James (Carolyn) and Paula. Ever- doting grandfather to Jordan, Andrew, Spencer and Samantha. Michael will be sadly missed by his younger brother and closest friend, George (Sophie) and also by his sisters, Zora and Nada. Born on October 19, 1923 and raised in Toronto, Michael graduated from University of Toronto in Civil Engineering in 1950. He went on to a successful career as a Structural Design Engineer with the Department of Highways of Ontario (Ministry of Transportation). A fine and gifted pianist, Michael's love for music was instilled in all of his children. His passion and creativity in arranging and performing jazz balladry was evident to all those who were fortunate enough to hear him play. Michael's kind spirit will live on in all who knew him. A special thank you to the staff of Castleview Wychwood Towers for providing care and comfort to both Michael and Virginia over the past four months. A private memorial service will be held on Saturday, June 6th. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation in Michael's memory to The Etobicoke Services for Seniors. www.esssupportservices.ca

My deepest sympathy for the loss of a great father and grandfather. Michael played the piano for my mother and provided enjoyment and laughter when she was in a nursing home. I remember his witty comments at many family get togethers. A great kind man !

We are very sorry to hear about Uncle Michael's passing..
He was an amazing guy, made an outstanding contribution to the building of this city, but I will always remember him most as an exceptional pianist. I was proud to call him my uncle and happy to have known him for all of these years.
I hope that you are all keeping well.
With our deepest sympathy.
