Passed away peacefully on Saturday, November 19, 2016 at age 71. Devoted husband of Karen. Loving father of Michael Jr. (Kate) and Meredyth (George Tsakopoulos). Proud grandfather of Alexander Michael. A Celebration of Life will be held at the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 226/046, 3591 Dundas St. W., York, on Sunday, November 27, 2016 from 2:00 until 6:00 p.m. For those who wish, memorial donations may be made to the Dorothy Ley Hospice in memory of Michael. Arrangements entrusted to the Turner & Porter Yorke Chapel. Online condolences may be made through

having just heard of the passing of Michael, please accept my sincere sympathy. Working with at McMurrich was never dull! His passion for sport and social events were in the forefront. He loved social gatherings and will remember,him saying why didn't you come?" A man of heart and he couldn't have had a better partner beside him all the way. Karen you were his best partner. Be strong and time will heal.

I was so very sorry to hear of Mike's passing. He was a truly lovely guy who will be deeply missed. I have many fond memories of him and my Dad together. Please know my thoughts are with you all.

I was so sad to read about the passing of a wonderful human being and a great teacher. I was one of the pupils from his very first year of teaching at Runnymede. I've never forgotten him. My sincere condolences to you and your family.
